“Clippers” is about coming to terms with commodifying one's life experiences as songs. To me, there’s something really dissonant, and dystopian about objectifying oneself and then asking people to buy, stream, and share it. In the process, what often starts in a place of as a genuine wish to share an experience becomes lessened, plastic and fabricated through the medium it's consumed. Despite developing an awareness, I continue to participate in it everyday, and encourage those around me to participate in it. And that feels bad.
